Harriot Appleton Curtis papers, 1790-1874.

The Harriot Appleton Curtis (1841-1923) family papers, 1790-1874, include family correspondence between Harriot and her mother, father, and siblings. Much of the correspondence is written to Harriot. Harriot was the daughter of Nathan Appleton and Maria Theresa (Gold) Appleton. In addition to her parents, correspondents include her brother-in-law Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Alice Appleton, Fanny Appleton Longfellow, and William Sumner Appleton. The letters from Longfellow to Harriot describe daily activities and family news. The collection also includes newspaper clippings, printed material, calling cards, and museum objects.
